A successful catch of €900 in Gozo for Puttinu Cares

€900 were collected during the 1st Fishing Annual Competition in Gozo held at Xwejni, limits of Marsalforn by the Puttinu Cares Gozo Committee. The winning club was the Kingfisher Sport Angling Club.
The winning team was that of Kingfishers represented by K.F.S.A. with a catch of 9.32 kg. This team was made up of Steve Johnston, Adrian Nelson, Stefan Borg, John Attard and Joseph Schembri. The team bearing the second place was Team C of the Denci Fishing Club consisting of Simon Axiaq, Lino Zarb, Manuel Mamo u Clifford Agius, with a catch of 7.67 kg. In the third place came Mullett from K.F.S.A. with a catch of 6.71 kg consisting of Charles Caruana, Fortune Calafato, Carmelo Quatrocchi u Roberto Attard.In the singles category, Adrian Nelson from K.F.S.A. came in the first place, Fortune Calafato from K.F.S.A. came in the second place, and Manuel Mamo from D.F.C. came in the third place. The biggest fish trophy was one by Lino Zarb who caught an 890 gram fish.
The Puttinu Cares Gozo Committee said that it would like to thank Mr Julio Azzopardi who organised this activity as well as all the sponsors including Anglers Centre, Mister Fish, Fishing Frenzy, Buon Pesca, Gozo Channel and Solar Engineering Ltd.
During the first week of May, the Puttinu Cares Gozo Committee collected €20,000 from several sports activities organised in Gozo.
