Between the 4th and 8th of March, the Gozo Emergency Response Rescue Corps (ERRC) provided a First Aid and Ambulance service at the Nadur and Xewkija Carnivals. The ambulance was used for the first time, having been recently purchased by the society.
During the Nadur Carnival festivities alone, 30 people were given first aid assistance, 7 of whom needed to be taken to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment.
A clinic was also set up in Nadur square near the police station and during the five day carnival, an average of 20 ERRC volunteers gave their service daily. On Saturday, which is the busiest day of all, there was a grand total of 30 ERRC volunteers providing assistance.
The Emergency Response and Rescue Corps committee and volunteers said that they would like to thank The Special Rescue Group – St Lazarus Corp for their assistance during the Nadur Carnival.
