Gozo Carnival 2011 delayed by inclement weather forecast

The National and Regional Celebrations Committee within the Ministry for Gozo has announced that due to the current inclement weather forecast, the Gozo Carnival, which was due to start tomorrow, Saturday the 26th February, has been cancelled.
The Carnival activities are now rescheduled to start next Friday, the 4th of March, at 10 am, with the childrens spectacle defile and dance, which is to be performed by Gozo College Schools in Independence Square, Victoria.
On Saturday, the 5th of March, at 9:30am, the main Carnival celebrations will begin with a defile along Republic Street in Victoria, which will include participating schools of the Gozo College and participants of the carnival competitions.
At 10:00am a grand spectacle of dance companies, floats and grotesque masks will take place in Independence Square Victoria.
On Sunday, the 6th of March, at 3.30pm, there will be another defile along Republic Street Victoria, followed at 4.30pm by dancing, floats and grotesque masks in Independence Square, Victoria.
Carnival celebrations in Gozo will come to an end on Tuesday, the 8th of March, with a final defile along Republic Street at 6.00pm, followed by a grand spectacle performed by all the participants in the carnival of 2011, which will take place in Independence Square, Victoria at 6.30 pm.
