Alternattiva Demokratika chairman, Harry Vassallo, together with AD Secretary General and spokesman for Gozo, Victor Galea, presented a number of trees to BirdLife Malta Director, Tolga Temuge, and Foresta 2000 park manager, Ray Vella, at Mellieha on Sunday. AD said that Birdlife was one of the organisations at the forefront of raising awareness about the need to protect the environment.
Dr Vassallo and Mr Temuge augured that they would meet again at the same site next spring to enjoy the first spring without hunting. AD concluded by saying that it hoped the government would finally abide by EU regulations and put an end to the spring hunting in Malta and Gozo for once and for all.
