Gozo commemoration to take place for Sir Arturo Mercieca

Sir Arturo Mercieca, born in Gozo in 1878 and who during his life occupied some of the top posts in the country including representing Gozo in the Council of Government (1907-10) and later Chief Justice and President of the Court of Appeal, will be commemorated in Gozo by a public talk being held at the Ministry for Gozo’s Conference Hall on Saturday 5th February at 11.00am.
The speakers will be Mgr Dr Joseph Bezzina, Mr Franco Masini and Judge Giovanni Bonello who will be speaking about different aspects of the life of Sir Arturo Mercieca.
This commemoration is being organised by the Ministry for Gozo with the collaboration of Sir Arturo Mercieca’s family and is being held on the occasion of the publication of the translation of Sir Arturo Mercieca’s auto-biography in Maltese.
All the talks will be in Maltese and the general public is invited to attend. During the event, the book ‘Sir Arturo Mercieca – Il-Mixja ta’ Hajti’ will be on sale at the reduced pre-publication price.
At the end of the event, the book will be presented to the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono.
