Gozo activities in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund

On Sunday, the 26th of December 2010, the Ministry for Gozo together with the Office of the President of Malta ( Istrina 2010) will be organising activities including a cycle and fun walk in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. Over the years this body has helped many individuals, families and entities in Gozo.
The event will start at 2pm for Maltese cyclists, leaving the Sanctuary of Our Lady in Mellieha, to eventually finish up at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu in Gharb. Gozitan cyclists will meet up at St. Joseph Home, Ghajnsielem (Institute of St. Joseph) at 3.15pm while others may join them by walking or cycling from Savina Square, Victoria at 3:45pm. Upon arrival at Ta’ Pinu, all participants will receive a very large piece of cake made by students attending the Institute for Tourism Studies in Qala.
Maltese cyclists who are participating in this event will be eligible cross over to Gozo and back free of charge, with the collaboration of Gozo Channel. Transportation will also be organised back from Ta ‘Pinu.
Each participant is encouraged to give a small donation of € 5 in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.
Besides this event, a programme of activities will also get underway at 3pm under the tent in Independence Square in Victoria, which will run until late evening. Part of this programme will also be transmitted through the media.
