This small chapel was erected outside a house in Triq Tigrija corner with Triq San Gwann, Nadur, Gozo, and it was dedicated to Our Lady Mary of Ta’ Pinu by Chev. Giuseppe Camilleri. It was blessed by Mons. Michael Gonzi on 2nd. December 1935.
From 1953, for well over 43 years, this chapel was taken over and looked after with great love and care by Maria and Leli Portelli, and after their demise their children took over and carried on the family tradition.
During this year of 2010, the chapel was restored by the Portelli family for the occasion of it’s 75th anniversary from the day of it’s original blessing.
Today, Wednesday, the 8th of December, on this feast of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the anniversary was commemorated by means of a Holy Mass celebrated by the Archpriest Mons. Jimmy Xerri and aided by Archpriest Emeritus Mons. Saviour Muscat, and three other priests
It was a very solemn and enjoyable morning as proved by the number of dedicated people that attended.
