The Customs and Immigration office at Mgarr harbour will continue providing its services throughout the winter months as from this year. The office, which normally opened between mid-May and the end of September, processes customs and immigration formalities to yachts and sailing boats arriving or leaving Gozo from or to foreign destinations.
Services offered at this office, which is situated within the Malta Maritime Authority buildings at Mgarr Yacht Marina, complement services offered by customs offices at Ta’ Xbiex Yacht Marina in Malta. Until now, visitors entering Gozo on their yachts between September and May had to clear documents in Malta prior to entering Mgarr Harbour. Those leaving Gozo also had to undergo the same procedure.
The Government said that it feels that the present load justifies the extention of the service through the winter months.
