Malta Cricket Association Summer League Finals washed outOn Saturday, the Malta Cricket Association Summer league came to a rainy finish. The last two games of the league between Melita C.C, Overseas C.C and Marsa C.C v Krishna C.C were both rained off. It is somewhat ironic that both of the Summer league divisions were completely washed out.

This left the ladder as follows. Overseas fourth with six points, Krishna C.C third with twenty four points, Marsa C.C second with thirty six points and the winners of this years Summer League, Melita C.C with forty two points. This is Melita’s second title win, their first coming back in the first MCA Summer league in 2005. Since then Marsa have won it three times and Krishna once. The best bowling figures were by the Marsa Bowler, Ronnie Sacco who took five wickets for six runs against Krishna C.C in their opening game. The best individual score came from Krishna batsman Andy Lenard who made fifty eight runs from thirty balls against Overseas.

In the second division Derek Ali, of Betfair C.C, had the best individual score of seventy two runs from thirty balls against RMG CC and the best bowling figures were by Betfair bowler Joy Ghoseroy with figures three wickets for eleven runs against RMG CC.

Next weekend the Marsa C.C take on new touring team Queen’s Park C.C from the U.K. in two forty over games both games will start at 10:30am.

The academy nursery will be from 9:00 till 10:30 am
