Tenor Joseph Calleja, returns to the Teatru Astra this week, to celebrate the tenth anniversary from the start of a career which has taken the international operatic world by storm. At just 29 years of age he is considered as one of the most promising artists of his generation.
Later this week, on Thursday the 25th and Saturday the 27th of October, Calleja will be interpreting again the role of Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth – the same role, in the same opera at the same theatre – which marked his operatic debut in 1997; 10 years ago.
Macbeth is held as part of this years’ edition of Festival Mediterranea which is being supported by the Malta Tourism Authority, the Ministry for Gozo, the Victoria Local Council, Air Malta, Vodafone, Bank of Valletta and the General Soft Drinks Ltd
Some few remaining tickets for the two shows are still available from the theatre’s booking office on telephone 21550985.
