Gozo Day Commemoration celebrations to be held in Victoria

The annual celebrations to commemorate ‘Gozo Day’ are to be held on two separate days. Firstly, at 10am on the 26th of October the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, will preside at a ceremony in Independence Square, Victoria.
The second event will also take place in Independence square, on Sunday the 28th of October at 7pm. Band marches by the Mnarja Band from Nadur will be followed by a concert in the square.
Gozo Day is an annual event held to commemorate the Gozitan victory over the French in 1798. The French capitulated to the Gozitans, who were led by Archpriest Saver Cassar on the 28th of October 1798.
