Health centre blood tests affected by MUMN industrial action

The Health Ministry has said that industrial action ordered by the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses may affect certain services at local heath centres.

The statement said that the MUMN had instructed nurses not to take blood, which will be particularly detrimental to patients who may have fasted prior to their blood test, or those who may have taken time off work.

The Ministry advised that anyone who had an appointment should call the health centre prior to attending.

It also apologised for the inconvenience and said that every effort was being made to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
