Victory Day celebrations being held in Victoria next Tuesday

The National and Regional Celebrations Committee within the Ministry for Gozo is organising a memorial ceremony for Victory Day, next Tuesday, the 7th of September 2010, at 6.20pm, Independence Square in Victoria.

This ceremony will be presided over by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono.

The programme will be as follows:

8.30pm Arrival of Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono.

6:35 pm Reading of poetry followed by a commemorative speech.

6:50 pm The Police Band march from Savina Square to Independence Square. A display will take place and the Police Band will perform various musical pieces.

7:05 pm Display in the Square of the detachments of the Armed Forces of Malta.

The Minister will then place a wreath on behalf of the Gozitan people at the war victims memorial. The Police Band will play the National Anthem and march from Independence Square along Republic Street.
