Marsa C.C played the Overseas C.C in the Summer league

The Overseas batted first. Sean Duffy and Roger Bradley opened the batting. Duffy batted through the innings and played the supporting innings to his team mates. He remained on fifteen runs not out. Bradley on the other hand hit twenty four runs from twenty two balls faced. He also hit three fours. Piers Allen managed to score thirteen runs from thirteen balls including two fours. Vince Stivalla playing his first league game for the Overseas also scored twenty four runs from twenty seven balls. He managed to score one four. Simon Schembri also playing his first game scored six runs from six balls. The Overseas were bowled out for 88 runs including six extras.
For Marsa Nowell Khosla was the main wicket taker with three wickets. Newcomer for Marsa Christy Parkes managed to take a wicket.
The Marsa teams reply started horribly with Nowell Khosla being caught behind for one run of the bowling of Stivala. The next two wickets fell too Roger Bradley who was the main wicket taker, that of John Rusher, one run and that of Pierre Naudi who managed eight runs. Ronnie Sacco and Christy Parkes were now at the crease and dented the hopes of the Overseas bowlers. Sacco showed the good form he has had through out the competition making forty runs not out from thirty balls including six fours. Parkes supported well scoring twenty nine runs from nineteen balls including three fours. The Marsa team reached their target in the twelfth over.
The Marsa team have now played all their games from the first round. They earned eight points from this win and now head the ladder with eighteen points. Melita C.C are second with ten points. Krishna C.C third with one point Overseas with no points.
Next Saturday Melita C.C play Krishna C.C and on Sunday Gozo C.C play RMG C.C. Both games start at 10:30am.
