SOS Hondoq commends Church Commission for it’s support

SOS Hondoq commends Church's Environment CommissionMoviment Harsien Hondoq ir-Rummien has expressed it’s great satisfaction that the Church’s Environment Commission has spoken out on the proposed project for Hondoq ir-Rummien.

They said that while the Commission recognised the need for sustainable development in Gozo, such a project would cause not only environmental damage, but also physical, social, touristic and ecological damage, not just for residents of the Qala village, but also to all those who visit this beach, in Gozo, both from Malta as well as abroad.

The Movement said it commends the Commission for it’s initiative and for its commitment to the residents of Qala and everyone who uses the beach at Hondoq, as well as applauding all the points raised by the Commission.

The movement concluded by saying that the report from the Commisision together with the reports of Professors Jeremy Bossivain, Steven Vella, Alan Deidun and Lino Bianco highlight that Hondoq ir-Rummien and it’s flora and fauna should remain as it is to be enjoyed by everyone who visits the area.
