The Diocesan Youth Commission (KDZ) recently presented Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, with a memento of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to Malta. The memento is a replica of the painting the Pope was given by the youth during his time at the Valletta Waterfront.

The presentation was made at the Gozo Curia during a meeting between KDZ Malta and KDZ Gozo. They also took the opportunity to invite Bishop Grech to the World Youth Day, being held next year in Madrid. It is expected that many young people from Gozo and Malta will travel to Spain for two weeks to meet up and celebrate with others from all over the world, in the presence of the Pope.

The Commissions of the two Dioceses said that they will keep working together on the co-ordination towards the World Youth Day and focusing on the theme of faith in relationship with Christ.

The two Commissions are establishing contacts with the Spanish organisers to help local artists exhibit and perform their productions throughout the World Youth Day.
