The Red Cross Gozo provide lifeguard service at Ramla Bay

The Malta Red Cross Gozo Branch water rescue unit has said that it is currently providing lifeguarding services at Ramla Bay, Gozo. This service is being done daily from 10am till 6.00pm. The service is being run as per international standards.
The Malta Red Cross water rescue unit is run by a master instructor and instructors who are all certified to international levels, besides having full recognition by the Italian Red Cross.
The Gozo branch said that plans exist to further increase the capacity of the unit by putting into service another hydro ambulance in the coming month. They also said that anyone can join the Red Cross and become a lifeguard.
The project at Ramla is being run in close collaboration with the Xaghra Local council, Malta Tourist Authority, the Gaia Foundation and the Ministry for Gozo.
