The Friends of the Sick and Elderly in Gozo are to make a presentation of much needed new equipment to the Physiotherapy Department of the Gozo Hospital. The official presentation will be made to the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, at the Physiotherapy Department of the hospital on Friday the 12th of October at 10am.
The funds collected so far have been used to buy a Cyclette ‘Tonika’ full-body exerciser, a Neurological Standing Frame (Standy Electro WING with full-body support), an interferential ‘Erbogalvan’ treatment unit and also infrared equipment, these items have already been supplied and are in daily use at the hospital.
The FSEG has also contributed substantially to the purchase of a portable Ultrasound System for the Obstetric and Gynaecology wards of the hospital. This was done by way of a voluntary body which was set up recently for that purpose.
They are also in the process of buying two Pulse Oximeters for the Paediatric and Female General wards and are hoping that they will arrive in time for the official presentation of all the new equipment to the hospital authorities.
