Dr John Galea, the musical director of Chorus Urbanus, Gozo, has announced that the ‘Versatile Brass Ensemble’ are to perform his Missa In Fractione Panis during the open-air mass that will be celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI in Malta on Sunday, April the18th, 2010.

These will be later joined by 120 members of the children’s choir, who will perform the liturgical hymns accompanying the celebration under the direction of John Galea. The mass will be transmitted live from over 60 television stations throughout the world.
Founded by its music director Paul Borg, principal tuba player of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, the ‘Versatile Brass Band’ is renowned for its vast repertoire ranging from classic to pop and jazz.
