In line with the directive set out by the Minister for Investment, Industry and Information Technology to the Board of Directors of the Water Services Corporation in his letter of the 9th August 2007, the Corporation has now informed its contractors working on the development of the sewage treatment plants that it intends to make claims to recover the costs of their delay in delivering the work on time.
The Gozo plant, which was scheduled to be commissioned by mid-September 2007, is being developed for the Corporation by Degremont S.p.A. The Malta (North) plant, scheduled for commissioning by the end of September 2007, is being developed for the Corporation by IBI S.p.A. and the Polidano Group.
