Local wardens in Gozo last year issued fewer traffic contravention tickets than in 2004 but more Maltese than Gozitans were booked up to November.
Figures given in Parliament by Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg show that the wardens in Gozo issued 11,125 traffic tickets last year up to November – substantially less than the 19,991 issued for the whole of 2004.
The minister was replying to a parliamentary question by Jason Azzopardi (PN).
Dr Borg said that in 2004 Gozitans received 9,679 tickets, 868 more than the Maltese in Gozo, while in 2005, till November, they received 5,029 tickets marginally less than the Maltese in Gozo.
