Nature Trust Malta voices it’s concerns on Ta Marga valley

Nature Trust (Malta) has expressed its concern on the issue regarding the application for developments in the Ta’ Marga valley in Qala, comprising an apartment block with basement garage and houses with pools causing high risk to the Qala valley ecologically landscape value.
NTM said that these development applications fall in the outside the development zone (ODZ) and within a valley system that deserve high protection value.
NTM added that it is also informed that in the report carried out by the Malta Resources Authority one of its senior hydrologists reported that this development could cause a risk flooding in the area. NTM said it feels that many of our flooding problems in Malta are related to unsustainable and ill planned development and therefore calls on the DCC to make sensible decisions moreover on the eve of the reform of Mepa reform.
