Gozo Channel have said that a fault in the electronic ticketing system caused a 45-minute stoppage to ferry services between Malta and Gozo last night, delaying travellers heading to Gozo for the carnival celebrations.
A company spokesman said that the shuttle service using three ferries that had been put into operation as normal during such periods was disrupted for some time due to the fault, but this has now been rectified and the service is back on stream.
The spokesman expressed the company’s regret for the inconvenience caused, adding that this had been minimised as much as possible by the efforts of the company’s employees, who did everything they could in the circumstances to bring the operation back to normal quickly.
