The stories covered in this weeks issue are:
1. On 22 January, Bishop Mario Grech of Grech celebrated the fourth anniversary of his Episcopal ordination at the Good Shepherd Chapel and Centre, Victoria. He thanked the Lord in a concelebrated mass with over sixty priests and, afterwards, he was hosted to dinner with all the priests by the volunteers of the Pastoral Centre. At the end, flanked by George and MariaStella, his father and mother, he cut a special anniversary cake.
2. On Friday 22nd January, the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus, celebrated the 58th annniversary of the passing away of their Foundress, the Servant of God, Mother Margherita De Brincat. Mass was celebrated in the Church of the Mother House, and all the sisters of the Franciscan Sisters’ communities in Gozo, together with a large number of members of the Association of the Stars of the Heart of Jesus, and the general public were present. For this occasion, the elected Provincial Superior, Sr Josephine Xuereb, paid her first visit to the Mother House, accompanied by M Bertilla Bartolo, the outgoing provincial Superior.
3. Every Sunday at 10.30am a Mass for the family is celebrated at the Cathedral in Victoria. All families within the parish are encuraged to participate in this Mass. After Mass all children present are invited to participate in a fun activity. Activities which last from twenty to thirty minutes include art, crafts, storytelling, games and much more. Activites such as these are important as they help children to socialise and get to know each other better. During games and crafts children learn to work in groups to follow rules, to take turns and to be creative.
