Almost €40,000 was collected during a live show at It-Tokk Square, Victoria, as part of the annual fundraising marathon L-Istrina held on Boxing Day.

President George Abela crossed over to Gozo on a helicopter to greet Gozitans and thank them for their donations. The Victoria Scout Group built a suspension bridge and a tower. People who climbed the tower and crossed the bridge gave a donation towards the L-Istrina. The scouts also collected money from passers-by. Throughout the year, the scouts also donated from their pocket money.

The global sum collected amounted to €4,576. Various singers and folk groups also took part.
