Update: Five environmental NGOs, the Ramblers, FAA, Friends of the Earth, Nature Trust and Bird Life together with the Environment Commission of the Archdiocese of Malta will be holding a public Forum on “The State of the Environment.”
The forum will take place this Saturday, the 12th of December at 10.00am at the Ballroom of the Hotel Phoenicia, Floriana.
A discussion on the deterioration of urban and rural heritage and will focus on Bahrija, Ta’ Baldu (Rabat), Xerri il-Bukkett (Qala), Nadur Cemetery and other controversial projects. The implications of the Delimara Power Station and of the effect of increasing air pollution on human health will be raised along with the need for speedy transport reform, water conservation measures, MEPA reform. Issues concerning built heritage will include the Qormi Armoury, the state of St. Angelo and the lack of consultation on the Valletta Regeneration plans.
