San Lawrenz parish priest Fr Daniel Xerri has been appointed rector of the seminary in Gozo, he replaces Fr Anton Teuma, who has been rector for the past 10 years.
Fr Xerri was born on August the 21st 1969, and was ordained as a priest in 1994. He continued his studies in Rome from where he obtained a doctorate in theology. He was appointed parish priest of the Sta Maria della Pace parish in the Sabina-Poggio Mirteto diocese and later at the Santa Maria Assunta parish in Corese Terra.
Fr Xerri returned to Gozo in 2004 and was appointed a member of the board of the major seminary and director of the pre-seminary last year. He has also served as a member of the Clergy Commission and Presbiterial Council.
