GO secures exclusive rights for Barclays Premier League matchesGO has announced that it has secured exclusive local broadcasting rights for England’s Barclays Premier League for the three football seasons 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13. The rights cover live TV coverage, as well as coverage on the internet and on mobile.

Commenting on this sports acquisition, GO Chief Executive Officer David Kay said, “GO is glad to have acquired exclusively the Premier League broadcasting rights, which will be beneficial to both our viewers and our business. Everyone recognises that the Barclays Premier League is one of the most viewed football leagues in the world, and we are proud to have secured such rights.”

Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Scudamore, added, “We are extremely pleased to welcome GO as a new partner and are entirely confident that they will provide excellent coverage of the Barclays Premier League to our many fans in Malta.”

GO’s acquisition of the Barclays Premier League rights is consistent with the company’s policy to acquire quality programmes. GO currently holds the rights for various sports including football, rugby, tennis, motorsports, golf, horseracing and boxing. Coverage on the Sports+ channels include football club channels and events such as the English FA Cup and Community Shield, Formula 1 racing, Wimbledon, ATP Masters Series, Fed Cup, Davis Cup, Augusta Masters, US Open, PGA Open, British Open, Ryder Cup 2010, PGA European Tour, Tri Nations Rugby Cup, Guinness Premiership, Heineken Cup and EDF Energy Cup, amongst others.
