Maltese artists Sophie and Elton hit No.1 in the Caribbean

Maltese Artists hit No.1 in the CaribbeanSophie’s management team has announced that Sophie and her producer/co-writer Elton Zarb’s single, K.I.S.S. (Keep it Simple Stupid) has reached the No.1 spot in the Caribbean music charts.

Sophie’s K.I.S.S. is currently riding high in the charts around the world, receiving airplay from radio stations as far apart as Jamaica to Tahiti – and this morning it reached the No.1 spot on Aruba’s Hit 94FM radio station (http://www.hit94fm.com/top20.html).

It’s been a great week for Sophie and Elton – their latest recording of the KC and the Sunshine Band classic Give It Up! is currently at No.5 on Malta’s XFM 100.2 Homegrown Chart and at No.11 on the Smash Radio 104.6 People’s Chart – and it’s rising.

f2f Music boss, Graham Mulvein said from London, “This is a huge achievement for these two young Maltese music artists to do so well abroad and the whole of Malta should be proud of them. Prosit Malta. Prosit Sophie and Elton. They carry the name of Malta forward every time their records get played in other countries – and at the moment – that’s a lot! “

Sophie will officially welcome Bees Gees music legend, Robin Gibb to Malta next Friday afternoon and will perform the live world and TV premiere of Give It Up!, co-choreographed by Malta’s YADA Dance Company’s artistic director, Felix Busuttil, at this year’s Malta Music Awards event at the MFCC, next Saturday, the 5th of December.
