OASI Foundation – Youth of the Year Award 2009

OASI Foundation - Youth of the Year Award 2009OASI Foundation is holding it’s 17th Award Giving Ceremony of the Annual National Event The Youth of the Year. The aim of this initiative is to publicly acknowledge the work done by youths through their various voluntary services for the good of others.

Through this event the OASI Foundation in the presence of the highest authorities in our society every year publicly sends out the message that notwithstanding the various misfortunate circumstances that enfold the social life of our youths, society is nonetheless conscious of, believes in and in duty bound to acknowledge the many positive qualities that our youths have. It encourages them at the same time to persist in their charitable work in favour of those in need, an exercise which in turn contributes also to their own own personal development.

Every nomination is an appraisal, often long due, to these young members of society who although burdened with their studies or work duties they still find the opportunity to dedicate part of their free time to make the life of other members of the community more humane.

All persons that have been nominated will be personally and publicly acknowledged for their contribution and will be presented with a commemorative trophy and certificate.

The Award Giving Ceremony will end with the presentation of the Youth of the Year Shield to one of the nominees who is chosen from among all those nominated to represent officially all the young volunteers in our society for the following 12 months.

This year’s event will be held under the patronage of his H.E Dr. George Abela, President of Malta, next Saturday, the 28th of November 2009 at the Hotel Ta’ Cenc, Sannat.
