Elysia Marie Farrugia was recently announced as winner of the third Pantene hair of the Year search. The ten finalists were voted on their hair, skin, smile and general appearance by a panel of five judges among them PINK editor Fiona Galea Debono, fashion stylist Carina Camilleri and photographer Alexandra Pace, as well as local business man Victor Galea from VJ Salomone (Marketing), distributors for Pantene.
So, after a final deliberation between the judges, Elysia Marie Farrugia emerged as the winner of the Pantene Hair of the Year search 2009. She wins a years’ contract with model agency models.com, a shopping spree at fashion boutique Muse and a fashion shoot with PINK magazine during the coming months as well as being the face of a local Pantene advertising campaign during the coming months. She will also grace the cover of the Pantene Calendar 2010. The rest of the finalists each got given their finished picture to add to their portfolios.
This year’s search for the Pantene hair of the Year rides on the great success of last year’s search which saw over 300 girls applying for the competition. For six weeks local model scouts Carina and Ben Camilleri scouted for potential Pantene women at parties, in supermarkets and even on the beaches. The scouts were looking for certain qualities that set participants apart from the rest, a quality that undeniably made them shine. Naturally great shiny hair was a must and all the finalists certainly had that! Whether straight or curly blonde or brunette all had hair that enabled their inner self to shine through! The finalists were announced six weeks ago during which time they were kept busy shooting a high end glossy Pantene calendar for 2010 which will be distributed with PINK magazine next month. This gave all the finalists a chance to work with top professional people within the industry.
