The Leone Band hold a Grand Christmas variety Show

The Leone Band hold a Grand Christmas variety ShowFollowing the successful Christmas variety produced by the Leone Band in December 2008, the Leone Philharmonic Society of Gozo and the Teatru tal-Opra Aurora have announced the second edition of The Leone Grand Christmas Show, this year to fall on the Saturday before Christmas, the 19th of December 2009.

The concert builds on last year’s successful formula, with some innovative surprises along the way. Thus, it will feature once again the Leone Band under the direction of Colin Attard. Other attractions shall include the theatre’s junior choir and local artistes who shall interpret some of the most popular carols and seasonal melodies.

The Leone Band has just presented its annual concert, to which an extraordinary audience turned up. It has successfully premiered Shostakovich’s Jazz Suite No. 2. Fresh from this success, the Leone Band is continuing its string of concert events, with this Christmas edition, as it shall be doing with more events in 2010.

The production team is also working on some innovations, such as comic acts with a satirical element, classical and contemporary dance as well as some other surprise acrobatic feats.

The Leone Grand Christmas Show is an event for all the family on the last weekend prior to Christmas. It is an occasion for the Leone Philharmonic Society to host all its friends for the exchanging of well-wishes, over some Christmas delicacies which shall be served after the show at the theatre’s foyer. For those who love Christmas tunes, it is surely another not-to-be-missed event.

Tickets cost €5.00 and can be purchased from the Aurora booking office (+356 21559452) or upon entrance. Tickets at the door are sold on a first come, first served basis. Those who pre-buy or book their tickets are offered the right of choice.
