MEPA’s caseload stands at 4,901

mepa planning statistics.jpgThe Malta Environment and Planning Authority decided 763 applications in July and received 622 new applications. The net pending caseload at the end of the month was 4,901.

During July the Authority processed 121 notifications of development, which, according to the Development Notification Order 2001, do not require a formal application.

During the same month, 89 Stop and Enforcement notices were issued, 79 in Malta and 10 in Gozo.

In July 2007, 8 enforcement cases were closed. 6 enforcement cases were sanctioned by the issue of a sanctionable permit while 2 cases were withdrawn by MEPA.

25 cases received at the Complaints office were resolved without the need of enforcement action, since owners complied with instructions given by MEPA enforcement officers.
