The Vodafone Malta Foundation has supported the MCAST Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology for the purchase of educational material. The material, including books, journals and software training packages, is required to improve the type and quality of the courses in communications offered to students and to keep MCAST staff updated in this fast changing field. The material will be used by students at all levels but more particularly those following the newly launched degree programmes at the above-mentioned Institutes.
“We are proud to have our name down as contributors to this fine institution and we feel it is our duty to support such entities in order to enhance educational programs for the benefits of our youths. Education has come a long way and today’s young people are spoilt for choice with the variety of subjects to pursue,” said Mrs Gemma Mifsud Bonnici, Chairperson of the Vodafone Malta Foundation.
Prof. Maurice Grech, MCAST Principal and CEO, said, “MCAST mission statement is to provide universally accessible vocational and professional education and training with an international dimension responsive to the needs of the individual and the economy. We interpret this donation as recognition to MCAST’s delivery and commitment and a sign of confidence, appreciation and support by the Vodafone Foundation.”
