After the successful open weekend at Fort Manoel, it is clear that the restoration work is at an advanced stage.
Wirt Ghawdex would like to appeal to the authorities to include as part of the restoration the return of the Vilhena monument to its original place in the Piazza d’Armi (as seen in the picture). Grand Master Antoine de Vilhena had generously contributed to the construction of this gem of baroque military architecture and rightfully deserves his place in a conspicuous spot at the Fort. Wirt Ghawdex feels that the monument in its current location on the main traffic artery in Floriana is not being given its due appreciation.
Midi plc. and Wirt Artna are to be congratulated on the high standard of the restoration work at this historical fort.
