The 17th and 18th of October 2009 will be remembered fondly by members of Animae Gospel Choir as their first national-scale performance. The concert, held at the prestigious Manoel Theatre, kicked off with a brief visual explaining how the Choir was initially conceived about a year and half back by Glen Vella who, together with Pamela and Leontine, worked hard to put together some of the best talent on the Maltese Islands.
The opening number immediately set the pace for the evening with the choir bursting out an excellent rendition of the songs ‘Let the sunshine in’ and ‘Let me entertain you’. The sold-out concerts captivated the patrons as from the onset where it was evident that they were going to be treated to some great harmonies and musical arrangements. By means of this concert, Animae Gospel Choir introduced nine new choristers, making it an 18-member choir. Together with a live band and accompanying children’s choir, Animae Gospel Choir provided those attending a night to remember. In return the audience rewarded the performers generously by erupting in vigorous clapping and cheering after each song and giving a heartfelt standing ovation as an emotional version of ‘Will you be there’, originally by Michael Jackson, was performed as an encore.
The production company responsible for this concert, Entertainment.com.mt, wishes to thank all those who have helped make this production a successful one.
