The Gozo SPCA is currently full to capacity and are therefore only picking up animals that are injured, sick or too young to care for themselves. This will continue until they are able to rehome some of the animals to free up space.
A spokesperson for The Gozo SPCA said, "our little Petula needs a loving home with a gentle caring person. She would be ideal as an older person’s pet. She is friendly and affectionate but a little timid with people she doesn’t know. She is a funny little dog with a lovely character. Petula is about 6 or 7 years old."
Petula is just one of the many animals at Gozo SPCA who are looking for a new home. If you think you can help then the Gozo SPCA will be very happy to hear from you.
A gallery is also available which features all the animals that are currently in need of new homes, which may be viewed by clicking this link. http://www.spca-gozo.org/spca/spcadecgallery/index.htm
All of the Gozo SPCA animals are vaccinated, neutered and receive regular health checks.
You may contact the Gozo SPCA Animal Re-homing Centre on 2155 3769 or 9980 7067 or visit their website at www.spca-gozo.org.

I am worried. Can Gozo SPCA show us the sick and injured dogs they are picking up.
All I want is for reassurance that animals are not being killed due to the current space restrictions.
In the meantime, please put our minds at rest. Where are these poor injured and sick animals?

“All I want is for reassurance that animals are not being killed due to the current space restrictions.” As a member of Gozo SPCA committee, you have the reassurance from me personally.
You, and indeed any member of the public, are welcome to visit Gozo SPCA centre to see the cramped conditions we have to operate under, but also to see how well all the animals are cared for.
I WONDER WHAT THE VET THINKS, I AM SURE MR FRANK GALEA THE ONLY GOZO VET CAN TRY AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE POOR ANIMALS. HE HAS BEEN TO THE UK AND WE DO NOT TREAT OUR ANIMALS LIKE THIS.
