The President of Malta, Dr. George Abela, will be conferring this year’s ‘Gieh Ghawdex’ awards during a Ceremony which will take place on Wednesday, the 28th of October, at Palazzo Palina, ta’ Cenc Hotel, Sannat, at 7.30pm. The award conferrment ceremony will be followed by a gala dinner.
The ‘Gieh Ghawdex’ award, now in its fifth year, was instituted by the Circolo Gozitano in 2005 as a means to honour personalities or organisations who through their work have given , or are still giving, an outstanding contribution to the socio-cultural and economic development of Gozo. The ‘Gieh Ghawdex’ is also awarded to individuals or organisations who have contributed, or are still contributing, to the preservation and promotion of Gozo’s distinct identity.
The ‘Gieh Ghawdex Conferrment Ceremony forms part of a programme of activities organised yearly by the Circolo Gozitano on the occasion of Gozo Day, which falls on the 28th of October.
