The Armed Forces of Malta rescued 65 people late last night, after the yacht they were travelling on struck reefs near Comino and started taking on water.
Two AFM patrol boats were immediately dispatched to assist and eventually transferred the yachts passengers over to Cirkewwa.
The yacht has been named as the “English Rose” and was still reportedly leaking oil late this morning.
