Gozo Football season gets underway next weekend

The Gozo Football Association have announced that the football season in Gozo gets underway in the first weekend of September with the first matches from the Second Division Knock-Out on Saturday, the 5th and the first matches from the Independence Cup on Sunday, the 6th at the Sannat Ground.
The seven First Division clubs are Ghajnsielem, SK Victoria Wanderers, Xewkija Tigers, Kercem Ajax, Nadur Youngsters, Sannat Lions and Victoria Hotspurs which are also taking part in the Independence Cup. It’s final will be held on September, the 21st. The Melita First Division League kicks-off on September the 20th.
The Seven teams playing in the Second Division are Gharb Rangers, Munxar Falcons, Oratory Youths, St. Lawrence Spurs, Zebbug Rangers, Qala St. Joseph and Xaghra United. The Melita Second Division League kicks-off on September the 26th.
Other competitions to be played this season include the BOV Gozo Cup, the Freedom Day Cup, the Super Cup and the Second Division Challenge Cup, the BOV Female League and Knock Out and the BOV U/15 Female League and Knock Out.
The Gozo Youth FA will be organising the U/17 League and Knock Out and the U/14 League and Knock Out and several tournaments for the U/11 and U/8 categories.
The Gozo F.C. will be participating in the MFA Second Division League with the senior male team and in the MFA First Division League with the senior Female team. In the Competitions organised by the Malta Youth FA the Gozo FC will be competing with the U/17 and U/15 teams respectively.
