A sheet of ten stamps, showing the image of the MSC Splendida, which is featured in the second issue of the “Maritime series – Cruise liners”, has been presented to the Captain of MSC Splendida Giuliano Bossi by the Minister for Information, Transport and Communication Dr Austin Gatt.
The ceremony of the presentation was held aboard the MSC Splendida on Wednesday 15th July 2009 on the occasion of the first visit of MSC Splendida in Malta. The sheet of stamps was also presented to Dr Domenico Pellegrino – Managing Director of MSC Splendida and to Mr Norman Hamilton – Managing Director of Hamilton Travel.
The stamp featuring the image of the MSC Splendida is one of a set of four stamps which represent a reproduction of five world class liners that visited the Valletta Grand Harbour. These liners are MS Seabourn Pride, MS Brilliance of the Seas, Costa Magica and Costa Atlantica and MS MSC Splendida. The stamps have face values of Euro 0.37, Euro 0.68, Euro 0.91 and Euro 2.00. This set was issued by MaltaPost on Wednesday 15th July 2009.
