The ‘Ghaqda Muzikali San Girgor’ of Kercem has presented it’s annual concert entitled Gold’n Pop at Pjazza Orvieto, Kercem.
The concert was held under the auspices of the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, the Mayor of Kercem, Joe Grima and HE Bishop of Gozo, Mons. Mario Grech. A memento was presented to Bishop Mons Mario Grech to mark the 25th Year of his ordination
The President of the Association of Music of San Girgor, Dr. Joshua Grech and the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, both made speeches for the occasion.
During the concert the band performed music and songs by world renowned artists and bands such as Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, Ricky Martin and The Rolling Stones.
A special part of the evening was a tribute in music by San Girgor to the memory of the king of pop music Michael Jackson, when they performed “We are the World” from the vast repertoire of this famous artist.
The concert was conducted by Mro. Mark Gauci with the participation of guest local singers Mario Caruana and Miriam Christine Borg.
